A Dream 35 Years in the Making
“Dreaming of a Better Place” is a short documentary from Cannes YDA nominated director Cameron Thuman. Created in partnership with USCAPE Apparel and supported by HeliCat Canada and Destination British Columbia, “Dreaming of a Better Place” tells the heartfelt tale of the Gostlin family, as they find solace in the spirit of the mountains after an unexpected tragedy changes the family’s dream forever.
Blending folklore storytelling and breathtaking action, “Dreaming of a Better Place” defines a surrealistic style of filmmaking never seen before in the ski film genre.

“Dreaming of a Better Place” will screen at select film festivals across the United States, Canada, and Europe this winter season, followed by an online premiere in 2023.

“Dreaming of a Better Place” will celebrate its world premiere at the renowned Whistler Film Festival in British Columbia, Canada. The film is one of nine shorts selected from submissions across 20+ countries.

“Dreaming of a Better Place” features a sensational soundtrack by German artist and composer Liam Mour, recorded in Berlin’s historic Funkhaus Cathedral, in partnership with Sony Music Europe.
The original soundtrack will release on Spotify in 2023.
