“The Spirit of AMG: The Silber-Sau” is the untold underdog story of AMG’s first-ever race car, the infamous “Rote Sau.” Narrated by fellow underdog Magnus Walker, the film transports viewers to the 1971 Spa 24 Hours race where, against all odds, AMG won first in its class.

After its mysterious disappearance half a century ago, Mercedes-Benz created the “Silber Sau” to pay homage to its ancestor. With Magnus Walker behind the wheel, “The Spirit of AMG: The Silber-Sau” is a tribute to the deserving minority: the underdogs who come out on top.

“It was an honor to work alongside Mercedes-AMG’s Germany team in pre-production, who gave us exclusive access to their archives from the early 1970s. Closely analyzing archival footage from 50 years ago, we choreographed intimate scenes, match-cutting and positioning Magnus as the determined underdog in the ‘71 Spa 24 Hours race.”

The mixed-medium footage, paired with Magnus’ persona, the heritage of the Silber-Sau, great storytelling is such a seamless fit. “I’d often say nothing had reached the cinematic feeling and emotion that my film “Urban Outlaw” still evokes for me, 10 years later. The highlight of “The Spirit of AMG: The Silber-Sau” is it’s perhaps my best film since “Urban Outlaw.” My projects with NativeFour have a connection in the energy flow, coloring, pace, and sound, leaving you to watch it over and over again.”
